Making sure there are no leaks in your roof

As the winter and the rain and snow season approaches for most people it is time to think about your roof. The roof is really an essential part of your home that everybody can’t live without.  But it is the part of the home most people overlook.  The only time people notice it is if there is a leak or it needs to be replaced or repaired. But with winter quickly coming it wouldn’t be wise for people to wait for that.So here are a couple of ways you can use to check to find out if yuo have a leak in your roof.

The first thing you have to be able to know is whether the spot was caused by condensation or a leak.  We get calls all the time for my Poway roofing company for people who think they have a leak.  But when we get to the house we find out it isn’t a leak but a condensation stain. The simple way to tell on whether or not it is condensation is condensation doesn’t have a design.  On the other hand a true leak will be circular.  So if you see a circular spot you have a leak.

The thing you want to check next are weak areas of your roof.Places that are known weak spots are areas like the chimney where it leaks a lot there.  In our Vista roofing service we always check those areas because it is so common that it leaks there. It is a fix that is really easy to do because all you have to do is seal that area.

Last thing you want to do is look at the areas that have been penetrated by a nail.Quite often when the nailing of the roof is done there will be spots that aren’t sealed well.  This is the cause of leaks that we find in my Encinitas roofing service. This is another simple fix you can do by finding it then sealing it.

So those are some of the methods you can use to be sure you don’t have any roof leaks this coming winter.

Cold weather and auto problems

A lot of things change as seasons also change.  Obviously the weather changes. But did you know the fact that as the weather changes our cars are also affected? It appears that auto problems are more prevalent during the winter season.  If you are in a really harsh weather condition city it can really hurt if your car breaks down.In this article we would be talking about how weather can affect your car’s performance.

In my Vista auto repair service the biggest cold weather problem are dead batteries.  The main reason is because when it is cold your battery is usually powering a lot more things in your car.And because of that it runs a little harder. You use your headlights more because the daylight is shorter. And the heater also takes more energy from the battery as compared to an aircon. So to make sure your car does not enocunter battery problems you must make sure that everytime you go out your battery is in good condition.

Next problem that happens in the cold weather are frozen fuel lines.  This isn’t a big auto problem for my Oceanside auto repair service.  But this is a headache for car owners in cities with very cold weather.  What happens is if you let your car run low on fuel condensation forms.  Well when it gets cold that condensation freezes up and stops fuel from getting to the engine. So to prevent it from happening then you must not let your car run low on fuel.

Tire pressure is another one of those problems when it is cold.Cold weather can make tires lose their pressure.  This isn’t a good thing because low pressured tires get balder faster.Bald tires is not good especially when the roads are icy or wet.So this problem is a serious one because it can be fatal. So always check your tire pressure.

So those are some of the most common auto problems during cold season.  If you do those tips you can avoid some of them. And you do not want to encounter those problems especially during cold season.
